His research interests are optimization of supply side and demand side energy management system (EMS). Supply side EMS includes forecasting, operational planning and control in a distribution network with high penetration of distributed energy resources (DERs). Network loss minimization is also focused on. And researches on demand side EMS optimize energy consumption and economy without deterioration of comfortability in a house, an apartment, and an office building. Cooperative EMS scheme regarding demand response (DR) and DER aggregation is studied too. These EMS schemes are demonstrated by using an integrated EMS facility consists of a distribution network simulator, smart houses, and a DR server. This facility is utilized to evaluate performance of developed methodologies in various national projects.
