Research Interests

Our laboratory’s current research focuses on the development of new inorganic nanomaterials and organic-inorganic hybrid nanomaterials, with emphasis on nanoparticles and nanosheets, and evaluation of their properties as functional nanomaterials. Our main strategies are based on surface modification of inorganic nanomaterials by organic compounds via several routes, including reactions in biphasic systems and microchannels, and conversion of designed precursors into inorganic materials via controlled pyrolysis. Our aim is to develop new synthetic routes for nanomaterials with superior properties through seamless application of both inorganic and organic synthetic chemistry. Recent target materials include catalysts for electrochemical water splitting from precursors via pyrolysis.
