On February 14-15, Monash University delegates of Faculty of Science, Associate Dean International and Head of School, visited the Unit for Energy and Nanomaterials for matching faculties and discussion on prospective graduate students exchange.

On 14, 2018 Monash-Waseda Joint Workshop on Energy and Nanomaterials was held. Monash delegates made an introduction of research on food waste biomass associated to Australian agriculture and Green Chemistry.

On 15, they had a discussion with our Associate Dean of Academic Affairs and Associate Dean of International Affairs about expanding and deepening collaborations in field of Science.

Monash and Waseda have been collaborating over 15 years since 21st COE program began. After Waseda Goes Global, Top Global University Project started in 2014, we concluded the agreement of  the Joint Supervision Program for PhD students. Two Waseda students have already completed the program and obtained the certificate with both presidents' signature.  We have just started a talk to move on to the next step.

Last December Prof. Nishide, the Unit Leader of Energy and Nanomaterials, visited Monash University, it contributed to commencement of discussions for more substantial collaborations to tighten ties and relationship between two university, then Monash delegates visited Waseda.

This time we agreed to start to design a new program for graduate students including those who in master courses, taking advantages of Waseda's network with industrial sectors and Monash's international research environment. In AY 2018 two Monash graduates are supposed to study at Waseda as a first step to building a new program.
