Post-Event Report (TGU Unit for Energy and Nanomaterials): Joint Symposium between Waseda University and the University of Bonn
The Joint Symposium between the University of Bonn and Waseda University was held on March 16, 2021. Two universities jointly hold workshops and symposia every year as a means to deepen and promote collaborative relationship in research and educational activities. Faculty members and students of each university usually visit the other and have face-to-face events, but events this time were held online due to COVID-19. The symposium opened with speeches by Prof. Kolanus (Director, The Life & Medical Sciences Institute (LIMES), University of Bonn) and Prof. Goda (Director, Research Promotion Division, Waseda University), followed by lectures of faculty members and researchers, and short presentations by students. More than a hundred participants joined the online event. Also, a virtual reception was held after the symposium, where Prof. Hoch, Rector of the University of Bonn, and other faculty members and students from both universities joined and enjoyed talking in a casual setting. This event helped to further strengthen the relationship between the universities.
